Jesus came into my life when I was 18 years old. I had always prayed to God, and knew He was real at a very young age, but had never understood the true access point to the Kingdom of Heaven until I invited Jesus into my heart. I had always wrestled with such fear, sadness, poor self-image, and depression. His purpose, His passion, and His presence practically leapt off the page as I began pouring over the Bible. My wife Becky and I were married in 1990 and began a family. By God's grace, we were blessed with three beautiful children. I taught in the public schools for twenty years, and in that time adopted one of my 8th grade students and increased our family. My wife and I also are medical foster parents and have adopted two more wonderful children. Ministry has always been at the heart of what I wanted to do since I was found by my Savior. I played in a Christian band and traveled around Maine (where I'm from), taught Sunday School for both children and adults, was a worship leader for most of my adult life, and have participated in regular prison ministry for two decades now. I wanted people to know the freedom, the forgiveness, the purpose, the love, and the eternal life I had found in Jesus. Check out His bio next! That's the one worth reading! Read the Word of God for yourself and look into this beautiful Savior. He loves you.
I grew up on Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, in a loving family. When I became a young adult, a goal began to percolate in my heart and mind. I wanted to make a living in a rock band. I pursued that goal with a vengeance and no back up plan. I ended up in a band with other musicians that had a devotion to that goal. with also had a complete devotion to that goal. We delved fully into the effort to see that dream become a reality and I ended up living a lifestyle that fit that end. It slowly destroyed me, and I found myself in a mental hospital for a weekend. The next week I went to church with a friend, heard the gospel preached passionately, got saved, started following Jesus, and never looked back. God gave me a beautiful wife, and 4 incredible children. We served as missionaries on the island of Barbados for 2 years. I also spent over a decade on the streets sharing the gospel with whoever would listen while serving in street evangelism and continue to do so today. I've served in youth ministry as well and in church planting as a pastor for 6 years. I now serve as assistant pastor to Pastor Doug Dodge at Calvary Chapel South Side in St Pete, and the best is yet to come!
